About Us

The Town of Charlton Fire Department was established in 1925. The fire department was an entirely on-call department until April 10, 1989 when they hired it's first three full time fire fighter/EMTs. Today the department employee's 14 full time fire fighter/EMTs including the Chief, 1 Administrative Assistant and 28 on call fire fighters and EMTs.
Station 2
Station 2 is located at 54 North Main Street and houses 4 pieces of equipment. It is an unmanned substation. The department covers 44 square miles of land, approximately 300 miles of roadway, and protects over 14,000 citizens. With 11 pieces of fire equipment, 3 Paramedic level ambulances, and 2 cars, the Charlton fire department handles approximately 1800 calls for service each year.
Station 1
Currently the Main Station located at 10 Power Station Road is staffed 24 hours a day seven days a week. Full time personnel are organized into four 3 person groups. The groups work a 24 hour shift beginning at 0800 AM. At all times addition members both On Call and Full Time may be summoned to assist on duty personnel through a radio dispatch and paging system for any type incident.
